You may become a permanent resident under this stream based on your ability to settle in Canada by the assessment of your language proficiency, education, work experience, age, among other criteria.
Requirements
- Advanced intermediate language proficiency (English or French)
- 1 year of continuous full-time paid work experience in an eligible occupation
- Foreign educational credentials assessment
- Proof of education

SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM
Canada is a country that embraces a skilled, diverse and energetic work force. The Skilled Trades Program is aimed at attracting skilled and qualified talents into the Canadian workforce to be permanent residents and proceed to becoming Canadian citizens.
Requirements
- Plan to live outside the province of Quebec. (Please note that Quebec has its own parallel program to attract the same type of talents)
- Intermediate language proficiency (English or French)
- 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) paid work experience in an eligible skilled trade in the past five years
- Full-time Canadian job offer for 1 year or a provincial/territorial certificate of qualification

PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAMS
Most provinces and territories of Canada have agreements with the federal government that lets them nominate immigrants who want to settle there. These programs contribute to the economic development of these regions.

- Intermediate or advanced intermediate (depending on the category) language proficiency in English or French

CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS
If you have lived and have the proper work experience in Canada for up to one calendar year, possess good language skills (English or French) and have adapted to the Canadian way of life, you may eligible to become a permanent resident under the Canadian Experience Class Program.

- Intermediate or advanced intermediate (depending on the occupation) language proficiency in English or French
- 1 year of full-time or equivalent skilled work experience in Canada in the past three years

QUEBEC EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
If you are a foreign student, graduate or temporary worker in Quebec, you may be eligible to apply under the Quebec Experience Program and be granted permanent residence status in Canada.
Requirements
- 18+ years old
- Advanced intermediate French proficiency
- Quebec eligible diploma or being 6 months away of completion of your studies (if student)
- Currently employed in Quebec in an eligible occupation and have worked 12 out of the 24 past months (if temporary worker)
